Episcopacy Nominations Form Due Monday
Don't forget that the Episcopacy Nominations Form must be received by Monday in hard copy form. That means it should be mailed tomorrow, Thursday, in order to be sure it arrives in time. You can of course send it for next-day or two-day delivery.

The other two items due by March 10 include the petition form, which can be e-mailed on Monday. If you are sending a floppy or CD by mail, it should probably be mailed tomorrow as well.

The nominations for Conference Lay Leader must be postmarked by March 10.

Information about all 3 of these items is on the web here: http://rmcumc.org/COI/ac/ac2008/

Nothing But Nets Matching Grants Still Available
Matching grants of up to $150 are still available through June 16 for children and youth groups who hold a fund raiser for the nothing but nets program. So Far, about 15 grants have been given in the name of the local church youth groups. We hope that your youth or childrens group will take up the challenge to offer a mosquito net to an african child to offer the gift of hope. Every $10 buys a net. Remember that your offering is also matched by the Gates foundation. So your efforts may be doubled or tripled.
some of the creative fundraisers we have heard of in our conference have included : souper bowl of caring for the nets when the group sponsored a soup supper, youth sunday services using the promotional materials found on the website www.NothingButNets.net . check out the wesite, its award winning.

Then there was a children's group who collected money by the doors as the people exited on a sunday morning, and the youth group who sponsored a basketball tourny. as well as the junior high group who created cute commercials for worship about nets ( bee nets, school lunch lady nets, ball net, fish nets). Your district mission promoters have all been given promotional backpack kits for anyone in their district to use as well containing a CD, and promotional Tshirt.

The grants are a one time only opportunity but if you have not yet had a fundraiser, there is still time. When you are finished with the fund raiser, just contact us, Joyce and Derek Detoni-Hill at revsdh at kci.net and we follow up with you then.

May you have fun while you raise funds.
