	Response to Fires in Colorado 

	At this time there are four major fires burning in Colorado and persons have been calling the Conference office asking how to help.  The damage caused by these fires is not clear.  The community of Ordway was evacuated and our UMC pastors on the ground from that area are doing a great job caring for people in need.  

	A way to help now is to participate in a special offering this Sunday and, next, to support the Conference Disaster Fund.  By supporting this fund you give the Rocky Mountain Conference Disaster Response Team the flexibility to respond to the disasters such as these in Colorado, Utah and Wyoming. 

	In the case of these fires, Bishop Brown, the Cabinet, Jayne Adams, the Director of Mission and Ministry, Conference Treasurer, the Conference Disaster Coordinator, David Lillie, and the pastors affected are working as a team to act when the need is clarified.
