Annual Conference Golf Tourney postponed till next year!

We at the Center for Pastoral Effectiveness of the Rockies have previously written to all of the Rocky Mountain Conference encouraging those who need to attend the ETHICS EDUCATION on Wednesday morning to do so rather than the golf tourney. It has been a delight to hear from so many clergy regarding their concern for the Golf Tourney and the Clergy Covenant Fund. However, we have also read in their notes about the anxiety of many who believe they need to attend the Seminar but are concerned about their loyalty to the Golf Tourney, and the Fund, or even to the Center. Since The Center for Pastoral Effectiveness of the Rockies was created to LOWER anxiety in the system, and because we believe that the Ethics Education Training "Sexual Ethics: Keeping Congregations Safe" can have a positive systemic effect on the anxiety of our clergy, our churches, and our conference, we have chosen to CANCEL the TOURNEY for this year and strongly encourage all to attend the Seminar beginning at 8:30 am on Wednesday, June 18th.

Regarding the Clergy Covenant Fund, we had as our goal to set aside $50 from each golfer's fee to go towards the Covenant Fund. THE FUND IS STILL A PRIORITY.
So we ask that you bring your money or check books to the executive session and donate your part.

Now for those laity who still want to golf, please let me know and I will connect you up with others of like desire. You can then make contact and set up your own golf outings.

Again, we regret this double booking. We believe that attaching this Ethics Education onto the Annual Conference can save a lot of time and money on the part of participants. We believe we have an outstanding presenter in Rev. Dr. Karen A. McClintock that can benefit us all.

See you on the golf course in Grand Junction next year!

Peace,
Bill Selby, Center Mentor
